Our Hard / Hard Soft Aligners, 1-2-3 Aligners and Modified Spring Retainers (MSR) are set-up on 3Shape's digital software, where we are able to align the anterior teeth with incredible accruarcy. We then print these models on our Stratsys printer. In most cases (moving anterior teeth), a patient will recieve on average three to five trays.
We can move and reset anterior teeth (centrals, laterals, cuspids and sometimes other teeth) about .5mm for the hard soft and .3mm for the hard aligner. Teeth can be rotated 4 degrees. If more movement is needed two sets of aligners will be used. Stripping can be applied when there is crowding. A stripping IPR form will be included. If there is a need for a price quote, be sure to include that on the RX. Requirements are both arches, PVS impressions or send us your intra oral scan.
The 1-2-3 Aligners consists of invisible trays with the centrals, laterals and cuspids reset in mutipule stages. In some cases, other teeth can be reset. Each tooth can be moved approximately .3mm per aligner. Teeth can be rotated up to 4 degrees per tray. Stripping can be applied when there is crowding. A stripping IPR form will be included. Requirements are both arches, PVS impressions or send us your intraoral scan. If there is a need for a price quote, be sure to include that on the RX.
Achieve more tooth movement by using a Modified Spring Retainer (MSR).
Movement of the anterior teeth with an “Invisible Retainer” is limited to .03mm or less per tooth. Our MSR can move up to 1mm of movement per tooth (lateral to lateral), but more movement can be achieved if only two teeth are moved. If more than 1mm is needed on all 4 incisors, then a second MSR will be necessary.
Remember it is best to move only centrals and laterals; sometimes we can move other teeth.
While the patient is biting down look over the arches to see if there is enough space to move teeth. We can strip stone teeth in the lab and give the Dr. the approximate mm of stripping necessary per tooth per side.
Each arch that is to have more than one modified spring retainer needs to be in Polyvinylsiloxane impression material (the lab will pour the casts) or send us your intra oral scan . An opposing cast is required and can be poured in plaster if no appliance is to be fabricated for that arch.
Most arches can be moved in one or two retainers and sometimes in three.
At your request our technicians will evaluate the impressions or casts sent us and give a price quote before constructing the appliance. Your office will be sent all retainers at once to reduce chair time. Providing there is more than one retainer.
Remember to tell the patients that a wire is visible to facial of the anterior teeth.
